This is a great book for anyone who cares about creating and sustaining healthy, vibrant, and enduring communities.  Easy to read, mentally stimulating, emotionally engaging.  A great basis for storytelling.  (Read:  November, 2009)

the Courage to Teach. Parker Palmer

This book opened up teaching for me in a way nothing else has done before or since.  The principal of the Morin School stood me in the middle of the gym floor on a frigid January evening (about 8 years ago) and wouldn’t let me move until he had summarized the book and I had agreed to read it.  Since then, I have probably given away a dozen copies.

All education is about relationships; the work of the teacher is to draw students into life-giving relationships.  Read this book.

Here Comes Everyone.  Clay Shirky

This book opens the door to understanding what may well be an economic and social upheaval of a magnitude that is hard to imagine.  Easy to read, mentally stimulating, emotionally engaging.  A great basis for storytelling.  (Read:  November, 2009)
